ALBERT'S VIEWThe view from Albert's window in Mt Martha, Victoria, Australia.

"Our front window - looking out across the lawn on a welcome rainy Sunday. We daily feed Sulfur Crested Cockatoos and other parrots that visit our garden. [We] Had 20 plus Cocky 's on the lawn at once, very noisy, shrieking loudly, but you have only to see them flying past to be overawed with their majesty & beauty .

This year the Cocky 's have not moved on, as in previous years, probably because of the drought and the resulting lack of food. Also there's a lot of building going on and many open areas are going under tarmac & concrete.

The palms are European Fan, Chinese Windmill & just out of a sight a Chilean Wine. Our garden is approx 1700M2 & we are about 70 kms east of the centre of Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula"

JDS'S VIEW The view from JDS' window in Slovenia.

...shows the view from our bedroom window. It's looking west and slightly north, and you can see two countries in it: Slovenia in the foreground and covering most of the mountain, and Italy in the distance and in the left. Also, the little pale smudge on the left flank of the mountain is a roadcut where the road passes into Italy for about 300 meters before reentering Slovenia.

The mountain is called Mount Sabotin, and it was the scene of heavy fighting during the First World War. The lines of the Isonzo Front passed right through here, and the Isonzo (Soca) River is just out of sight below the picture's bottom edge.

Also, the picture is put together from five images and has had shadows lightened so you can see detail.

My wife and I climbed this peak the day our first son was conceived.

I hope you can use this picture on your (excellent) site, and if not, I hope you'll enjoy seeing it anyway, and thanks for doing what you do"

PETYA'S VIEW
The view from Petya's window in Stralsund, Germany.

"I thought though that i'd like to share my window view in case somebody wants to take a peek outside a student room (and a kitchen in one image) in Stralsund, Germany. It's almost on the Baltic Sea coast. I know, we think it's a joke too, but the beach is close enough to shut us up. It's very diverse, this view, but it's hard to catch the subtle colours.

None of the photos i attached was processed any more beyond light and color adjustments done on the camera (cause i found myself reaching to photoshop several times to make myself feel better about my photographic skills) - i see this is maybe important in your blog since most pictures look very natural. i promise i'll browse through them when i've gotten some sleep. I'm interested to see that world out there behind those windows"
